With all year round sunshine Moorea is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun, whether it’s by the horizon pool sipping a cool drink, or from the vantage point of the decking overlooking the lagoon. Beneath its surface the colourful coral gardens come to life as you snorkel through them. If you’re feeling more energetic a range of activities are on offer, including quad biking, kayaking, canoeing and diving.
A cruise around the island is a further “must do” activity, including a stop to feed the silky rays, as well as the wild dolphins and sharks. Many cruises make a stop at Cook’s Bay with its aquamarine lagoon surrounded by rugged peaks and waterfalls, and the equally enchanting Opunohu Bay.
Land tours to Moorea’s ancient maraes can also be arranged. These giant stones are symbols of Polynesian history and are of great archeological importance.
Another popular option is a 4WD or motorbike ride around the island with stops at secluded picnic spots and pretty bays.
